Tinubu Nominates Mahmood Yakubu, Fani-Kayode, Omokri, 29 Others as Ambassadors

President Bola Tinubu has nominated 32 individuals, including Mahmood Yakubu, Femi Fani-Kayode, and Reno Omokri, as ambassadors to various countries. The nominees comprise 15 career ambassadors and 17 non-career ambassadors, with four women on the career list and six on the non-career list.

Non-Career Ambassador Nominees:

  • Barrister Ogbonnaya Kalu (Abia)
  • Reno Omokri (Delta) – former presidential aide
  • Mahmood Yakubu – former INEC chairman
  • Erelu Angela Adebayo – former Ekiti first lady
  • Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi – former Enugu governor
  • Femi Fani-Kayode – former aviation minister
  • Victor Okezie Ikpeazu – former Abia governor
  • Jimoh Ibrahim – senator and businessman

Career Ambassador Nominees:

  • Enebechi Monica Okwuchukwu (Abia)
  • Yakubu Nyaku Danladi (Taraba)
  • Miamuna Ibrahim Besto (Adamawa)
  • Musa Musa Abubakar (Kebbi)
  • Syndoph Paebi Endoni (Bayelsa)
  • Chima Geoffrey Lioma David (Ebonyi)
  • Mopelola Adeola-Ibrahim (Ogun)

The nominees are expected to be posted to countries with strategic bilateral relations, including China, India, South Korea, Canada, Mexico, the United Arab Emirates, Qatar, South Africa, and Kenya, as well as permanent missions like the United Nations, UNESCO, and the African Union ¹ ² ³.
